فلسطيني سوري، اشتهر ببائع الأقلام بعد انتشار صوره في وسائل الاعلام نتيجة حملة تبرعات غيرت حياته.
الصحافي والناشط الأيسلندي غيسور سيمونارسون أطلق حملة لمساعدة عبد الحميد، لتتخطى الحملة توقعاته، فقد وصل مبلغ التبرعات إلى 191 ألف دولار أمريكي، إلا أن عبد الحميد قال على البرنامج التلفزيوني اللبناني “للنشر” أنه عندما كان يبيع الأقلام لم يكن عليه ديون، الآن بات مثقلاً بالديون.
كارول معلوف صاحبة جمعية سولاس والإعلامية اللبنانية التي برزت من خلال دخولها إلى سوريا وتصويرها مقابلة مع أسرى من حزب الله لدى جبهة النصرة، ومن خلال مكالمة هاتفية مع عبد الحميد اثناء مطالبته بالحصول على أمواله، انهالت عليه بالشتائم والتهديدات بالحبس او الترحيل.
أقرت كارول ضمن المكالمة باحتجازها 30 ألف دولار كضمانة لها، فيما لا تزال 75 ألف دولار عالقة في حساب باي بال حسب تغريدة ل سيمونارسون.
المثير للسخرية أن عدداً من المواقع الإعلامية التي تعتبر صديقة لكارول معلوف وبعد اتهامها من قبل عبد الحميد، راحت تروج أنه يتعاطى المخدرات ويروج للدعارة وتنقل عن زوجته استلام كامل المبلغ، إلا أن مصدراً موثوقاً أخبرنا أن عبد الحميد يربي أطفاله لوحده بعد أن تركته زوجته منذ فترة بعيدة.
