تستغني عن الترفيه والكماليات، بعد أن تعيد تعريف كل من الكماليات والأساسيات، فتتضخم القائمة الأولى على حساب الثانية؛ نتكلم عن «رفاهية» أشياء مثل الطبابة والوقاية أو متابعة التعليم أو الكهرباء والتدفئة والاتصالات والمواصلات..
تراقب تكاثر الجمعيات الخيرية ومنظمات الإغاثة، وبغض النظر عن تقييم أدائها، فهذه المؤسسات أصلاً تعترف بنفسها بعبثية المهمة التي تتصدى لها.
سيعمل أكثر من شخص في البيت الواحد لتأمين اللقمة؛ لن يمنع أن يتحول المرضى وأطفال البيت إلى عمالة (مستغَلَّة غالباً) للمشاركة في المصروف.
يتم ترقيع الدخل بحوالات من المغتربين.
بعض المحظوظين يجدون من يقرضهم مبالغ للطوارئ؛ هي بالنسبة لمانح القرض «ديون معدومة»، سيحتسبها كصدقات مقنّعة.

لكن من الأفضل الاستمرار في البحث حول هذا السؤال «كيف عايشين؟» لأنه يبقى أقلّ سوءاً من سؤال يبطنه المستبدون وحلفاؤهم من المترفين: «ليش عايشين؟»!
